Kangaroo Island, South Australia!Kangaroo Island is the third largest island of the Australian mainland and one of your most popular tourist attractions. It is 155kms long and 55kms wide. The island has beautiful beaches, unspoilt nature and an abundance of wildlife.
You can experience kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, sea lions and penguins in their natural environment.
The climate is more temperate than on the mainland, with cool pleasant summers and mild winters. Temperatures in summer range from 20-27°C, while temperatures in the winter range from 7-15°C.
On Kangaroo Island you can enjoy swimming on unspoilt beaches, diving in crystal clear water and surfing. Kangaroo Island has 21 national parks where you can enjoy the flora and fauna while bushwalking or camping. Fishing is also a popular activity on Kangaroo Island.
You can reach the island by a 30min flight from Adelaide, or a 90-min car trip from Adelaide to Cape Jarvis and then a 45min ferry to Penneshaw.
